Division 2.
Yatton are almost Champions. The need 1 point from their final match away at Portishead. However, if Portishead can take maximum points from their last 3 games, they become champions. A tall ask, I must admit. Clevedon Promenade have unfortunately received a penalty of 8 points for breach of the rules and can now only become runners-up at best. Clevedon Prom had won both of their matches this week as well. Ashcombe Knights lost at home to Clarence Golds, whilst the match between Mark Moor and Banwell was abandoned because of heavy rain. The latter two teams look as though they will have to share the rink points as they seem to be unable to find a date in the calendar at this late stage in the season. But more of that situation next week. The fight for runners-up is still the main item of interest.
The top placings are as follows:
Yatton Pl 17 245 pts
Clevedon Prom Pl 16 203 pts
Ashcombe Knights Pl 17 201 pts
Portishead Pl 15 186 pts
Banwell Pl 15 162 pts
Knock Out Cup
Clarence Blues defeated Winscombe Originals, at Winscombe, by 1 shot. The final, at Isle of Wedmore, will therefore be between Clevedon Promenade and Clarence Blues. A new name to go on the Cup.
